Welcome to Lisboa.

Last January, auto sports in general and all the Portuguese lived the frustration of the early end of the Euromilhões Lisboa-Dakar 2008. But while most people accepted this end with their heads down, others immediately draw plans to light up the flame of the adventure the puts man and machines face to the challenge of overcoming the biggest adversities, on a struggle that excites the planet since 30 years.

With the experience and success showed in past editions, it was inevitable that João Lagos Sports seek to bring again to Portugal the best of the world in crosscountry rally.

So it's with joy that we are here today presenting the result of this idea. The work was hard in the last months so that João Jagos Sports, with the support of Escuderia Castelo Branco – with 44 years of experience organizing cross county events – could draw the PAX RALLY, which will be held between 10 and 14 of September, connecting Lisbon to Portimão.

The PAX RALLY 2008 will host the national and international elite of cross country drivers, along with amateurs from different origins and sensibilities that wish to be present in a competition where challenge and demanding are trade marks.

The PAX RALLY is a cross country rally open to cars, motorbikes and quads.

Five days of competition
The PAX Rally, labeled by Dakar Series, was born from the desire of maintaining the link with the mythical Dakar, so that in a next return to Africa we already recovered the notorious departs from Lisbon.
Therefore, the spirit of the Dakar will stay among us!

After a short stay in Lisbon, where will be held the Technical Scrutineering and depart of the rally, at September 10, the competitors will have on their way a hard five days event, with almost 2000km, 1000 of them against the clock.

Everyday will be held a Special Stage, from 65 to 300km long, with different kinds of terrain: a guarantee of satisfaction to all drivers and styles of driving.

There was the preoccupation of choosing different types of terrain, to combine the skills of drivers. They will not face the huge Mauritanian dunes, but sand is on the menu. Adding the traditional Portuguese terrain and the SS will be demanding forcing competitors to show all their driving skills.

During the event, the drivers will head north first, from Lisbon to the beautiful city of Castelo Branco, side-by-side with rocky landscape. Afterwards, a hard turn south, between plains and some mountains, with the PAX RALLY ending in the cosmopolitan city of Portimão.
