The 3rd edition of the TransAfricaine Classic, 4x4 regularity raid rally, will run from 11th to 28th November 2008, from Paris to Dakar!

Olympic-Style starting blocks
November 11th and 12th, technical and administrative verifications for the 3rd annual TransAfricaine Classic will be held at the illustrious Yves du Manoir stadium in Paris' western suburb of Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine/92).

For two straight days, this legendary site where the 1924 Olympic Games as well as the 1938 Soccer World Cup were both held, will the rallying hub for teams who've come from all over Europe to participate in this extraordinary adventure: the most Classic of all African road rallies.

Departing from La Défense
After meeting all of the technical and administrative checks in Colombes, each of the TransAfricaine Classic participants will store his/her vehicle within the enclosed parking facility set up on the paved Esplanade at Paris' La Défense business district where the competition will officially hit the road in the early afternoon on November 13th.

Ales, a new stop-over
After our first night in the Orléans region, the TransAfricaine Classic caravan will inaugurate a new stop-over site in the lovely Gard region. On November 14th, revved up competitors will test their skills on the sandy slopes of the Olivet military terrain for the initial Regularity Sector. Now a tradition, this particular location was chosen by Thierry Sabine for the early Paris-Dakar races.

Once they've faced the challenges of this thrilling course, the participants will cross the center of France to our new stomping grounds.
On November 15th, along the banks of the Gardon River, and more specifically on the Monteils/Alès race track, the 2008 TransAfricaine Classic's second Regularity Sector will be played out.

Sète – Tanger crossing
Following the second Regularity Sector, we'll embark on a connecting leg to Sète. There the entire caravan will hoist the anchor and head ‘cross the sea to Africa on a specially reserved ship. When we land in Tanger (Morocco), the real adventure begins!

20 Meharis / 2cvs in the line-up
The Mehari Club de Cassis, renowned European specialists in all types of 2CVs, wanted to host a rally-raid to Dakar: The 2CV Méhari Cup for the many fans of this great model in honor of its 60th anniversary. They decided to hook up with the TransAfricaine Classic to ensure optimal conditions and impeccable organization.

By joining forces, each bringing their expertise to the table, ZRC and the Mehari Club de Cassis offer the best guarantee for participants to enjoy a fabulous experience. As a result, 20 Mehari/2CVs will be joining this year's TAC caravan, along a specially adapted itinerary through the African portion of the event.
